After describing his first wife Audrey Sheppard as a “Cheatin’ Heart”, he dictated in minutes the lyrics to Billie Jean Jones. Produced by Fred Rose, Williams recorded the song on his last session at Castle Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, on September 23.
