Englishman in New York is a reggae jazz pop song by English musician Sting, taken from his 1987 second studio album …Nothing Like the Sun.

The soprano saxophone on the track was played by American saxophonist and composer Branford Marsalis, while the drums and percussion were played by Manu Katché and Mino Cinelu respectively.

Despite not recording considerable success on the UK Singles Chart and  In the US, the single achieved more successful in continental Europe, becoming a hit in several countries,[4] reaching the Top 40 in Netherlands, Spain, France and  Belgium. It  was also a Top 10 hit in South Africa.

In 2010, Sting re-recorded the song in an orchestral version for his album Symphonicities.
