All by Myself is a soft rock pop song originally written and recorded by American rock and roll musician Eric Carmen, for his 1975 self-titled debut album.

In 1996, Canadian singer Celine Dion recorded a very popular and commercially successful cover to the song for her fourth English-language studio album, Falling into You.

After its release, the David Foster-produced single became one of Dion’s biggest hits in the United States, reaching number 1 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks and number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In her native Canada, the single dominated the Adult Contemporary chart as well.

All by Myself has been certified gold in the US, and silver in France and the UK.

LYRICS

When I was young

I never needed anyone

And making love was just for fun

Those days are gone

Livin’ alone

I think of all the friends I’ve known

But when I dial the telephone

Nobody’s home

All by myself

Don’t wanna be

All by myself

Anymore

Hard to be sure

Sometimes I feel so insecure

And love so distant and obscure

Remains the cure

All by myself

Don’t wanna be

All by myself

Anymore

All by myself

Don’t wanna live

All by myself

Anymore

When I was young

I never needed anyone

And making love was just for fun

Those days are gone

All by myself

Don’t wanna be

All by myself

Anymore

All by myself

Don’t wanna live

Oh

Don’t wanna live

By myself, by myself

Anymore

By myself

Anymore

Oh

All by myself

Don’t wanna live

I never, never, never

Needed anyone
